Artist Statement

Painting, drawing and designing—everything that allows me to express my creativity—are both a passion and an inner necessity for me. It is a unique feeling when I succeed in conveying through my artwork something that is difficult to express with words, and when that message also resonates with others. Through my work, I strive to evoke emotions and offer the viewer insight, beauty and new perspectives.

My specialty is photorealistic, highly detailed painting, yet a defining characteristic of my style is the deliberate disruption of that precision through expressive brushstrokes. In this way, I combine accuracy with the freedom of expression, giving my works a distinctive and vibrant character. I work primarily with acrylics and oils, while also enjoying the exploration of new techniques. Human figures, animals and nature are often at the heart of my work. I am particularly fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow, as well as the combination of photographic realism and abstract expression. Continuous growth and the discovery of new possibilities are at the core of my artistic process. I constantly notice new details, tones and nuances that take my expression further. Every artwork is a journey in which I challenge myself to achieve an even better result.

I live and work in Espoo, Finland. In addition to painting, I own the fashion brand that bears my own name, and I design postage stamps and other art products that are sold throughout Finland in collaboration with Posti Finland and Suomen Korttipiste. My goal is to bring art into everyday life and make it approachable. That is why I also create products where art meets functionality and everyday living.
